My Epistemology
Are there more men in prison than women, if so why?
My epistemology is that prison is a place for people who have done mistakes in their lives and need to be punished so they will not do it again but its not like if everyone there is evil some of them have a heart.
In my second article I found out that women tend to get shorter sentences and are more likely to just get probation, even if men and women were given the same sentences there would still be more men in jail.
This picture shows the incarceration rates of 2006 it appears that 93.1% were men and 6.9% were women this shows that there were way more men in prison than women.
This image shows how many people were imprisoned according to gender, and race it also shows how many prisoners there were during that year. This one also represents that there are more men in prison and it is rising every year.
This drawing shows a mother in jail and on the left hand side it says that more women and mothers are behind bars than at any other time in U.S. history.
So, my results were that there are more men in prison than women due to verbal aggression and physical aggression and are more likely to commit domestic violence and other crimes. However, my epistemology has not changed and I still believe the same.
